• Apple Sign-In credentials (name and email) for authentication
• Reading preferences and settings you configure

Stored Locally on Your Device

• Your reading progress, bookmarks, and app settings are stored locally on your device
• Reading plan settings and daily completion data
• App preferences (theme, fonts, reminders)
• Scroll positions and last-read locations
• This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it

Location Data

• We request location access only to provide accurate prayer times and Qibla direction
• Location data is processed on your device and not sent to our servers
• You can use the app without granting location access

Device Information

• We collect device identifiers (IDFV) to prevent abuse and ensure service quality
• This helps us detect if someone creates multiple accounts from the same device
• Device information is used for security purposes only, not for advertising or tracking

Collected Automatically

• Anonymous usage statistics to improve the app
• This data cannot identify you personally
• No personal information is shared with third parties for marketing

2. AI Tafsir Search

Our AI does not generate or create Tafsir. It is a search tool that finds and relays verified scholarly interpretations from trusted classical sources like Ibn Kathir, Al-Tabari, and Al-Qurtubi.

• When you use the "Ask AI" feature, your question text is sent to our servers
• Our servers forward your question to OpenAI's API with specially crafted prompts for scholarly accuracy
• Your question text is the ONLY data sent to OpenAI. No name, email, device ID, or any personal information is included
• Questions are not permanently stored by our servers or linked to your identity
• You must provide explicit consent before using the AI feature for the first time
• OpenAI's data usage policies apply to the processing of your questions (see OpenAI's privacy policy)

3. How We Use Your Information

• Authenticate your account via Apple Sign-In
• Provide AI-powered Quran search based on classical scholarship
• Save and restore your reading progress locally
• Calculate prayer times and Qibla direction using your location
• Send daily reading and prayer reminders (if enabled)
• Improve app functionality and experience

4. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign-In: For secure authentication
• OpenAI API: For AI-powered Tafsir search (question text only, no personal data)
• RevenueCat: For managing subscriptions (processes purchase data through Apple)
• Prayer Time APIs: For accurate prayer time calculations

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

• Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store
• We do not have access to your payment information
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
• Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat, which communicates directly with Apple

6. Data Storage & Security

• Your reading data is stored locally on your device
• We do not maintain cloud databases of your personal reading data
• Account information is stored securely with industry-standard encryption
• AI questions are processed in real-time and not retained after a response is generated

7. Data Retention

• Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data
• AI questions are not stored after processing
• Account data can be deleted at any time from the Profile screen

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. When you delete your account:

• Your account association with our server is removed
• Local data on your device can be cleared by uninstalling the app
• Any active subscriptions should be cancelled separately through your Apple ID settings

9. Your Rights

You can:

• Access: View your data within the app at any time
• Delete: Delete your account from the Profile screen, or uninstall the app to remove all local data
• Opt-Out: Disable notifications, location access, or AI features at any time
• Control: Choose which features to use and which permissions to grant
• Request: Contact us for information about any data we hold

10. Children's Privacy

Quran AI is suitable for users of all ages. The content is educational and appropriate for everyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted in the app with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
