Common Questions

Answers to common questions about Quran AI: offline reading, bookmarks, reading plans, prayer notifications, AI tafsir sources, privacy, and pricing.

How do I bookmark a verse?

Double-tap on any verse while reading to bookmark it. A small bookmark icon will appear, and the verse will be saved to your Bookmarks on the Home screen. Double-tap again to remove the bookmark.

How do I save my reading spot?

Single-tap anywhere on the page while reading to save your current position. The app will remember exactly where you left off and return you there the next time you open that Surah or Book Mode.

What's the difference between Surah Mode and Book Mode?

Surah Mode shows individual Surahs with verse numbers and translations — great for study. Book Mode displays the entire Quran as continuous Arabic text — perfect for immersive reading like a traditional Mushaf.

How does the AI Tafsir search work?

Our AI does not generate or create Tafsir. It's a superpowered search engine built to find and relay verified scholarly interpretations from trusted classical sources. When you ask a question, it searches through established Tafsir from scholars like Ibn Kathir, Al-Tabari, and Al-Qurtubi, then presents their explanations in plain English.

Traditional search engines can surface misleading content from bad actors who deliberately spread incorrect interpretations. This tool was built to combat that by going straight to verified, classical scholarship.

Does the AI create its own Tafsir?

No. The AI does not create or make up Tafsir on its own. It searches for verified Tafsir from trusted Islamic scholars and conveys them to you. Our prompts specifically instruct it to cite classical scholars and never present personal interpretations as fact.

Can I use this app offline?

Yes! The entire Quran is stored locally on your device, so you can read in both Surah Mode and Book Mode without an internet connection. Bookmarks, reading progress, and settings are all saved locally too. The only feature that requires internet is AI Tafsir.

How do I set up a reading plan?

Go to the Home screen and tap on Reading Plans. Choose how to track progress: by verses, pages, juz, or a target completion date. The app calculates your daily goal and tracks your progress so you stay on schedule.

How do prayer time notifications work?

Prayer notifications use your location to calculate accurate prayer times. You can enable them during onboarding or later in Settings. Each of the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) can be toggled individually.

Can I read Arabic only without translations?

Yes. In the reader settings you can toggle English off to read just the Arabic. You can also hide Arabic to read just the English translation. Book Mode gives you a clean, continuous Arabic experience like a traditional Mushaf.

How do I find the Qibla direction?

The Qibla compass is available from the Home screen. It uses your phone's magnetometer and GPS to calculate the exact direction of the Kaaba from wherever you are. Make sure location access is enabled for accurate results.

Is this app free?

The entire Quran reading experience is completely free — Book Mode, bookmarks, reading plans, prayer notifications, Qibla compass, and iOS Widgets. AI Tafsir gives you 10 free questions. After that, you can upgrade to premium for unlimited AI questions.

Why do I need to sign in with Apple?

Apple Sign-In saves your account and keeps your data secure. It also helps if you need to restore your account or contact support. Apple keeps your information private and you can choose to hide your email address during sign-in.

Is my data private?

Yes. All your reading progress, bookmarks, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not track what you read or sell any data. When you use AI Tafsir, your questions are processed but never stored or linked to your identity.
